Baywatch Babes

David Hassellhoff would have been proud of his Baywatch lifeguards this past weekend. In the spirit of Halloween the girls and I decked out in the red swimsuits and headed out for some trick or treating fun!!

Labor Day in Aruba

I think I may be forming a new labor day tradition. I flew out Wednesday evening and headed down to Aruba for Andre's birthday. After waiting three long months after booking the trip the day finally came to get on the plane. Once we landed our driver took us around the downtown and gave us a brief history about the town and all of the hotels we passed. I have to say my heart was beating looking at the crystal clear water to our left getting more eager by the moment to get settled in.

I do have to say I was sad we didn't go see any of the island. Instead we layed under our tiki hut and read the majority of the trip. One day we went snorkeling on a pirate ship. We snorkeled a ship wreck, then moved to a coral section, and ended with an hour long swim session and jumping off the pirate swing. This was my favorite moment of the whole trip.

I do have to say this was the most relaxing trip I have ever been on. The island was extremely clean everyone was beyond friendly and the food was probably the best sushi and seafood I have ever had. I plan to go back very soon!

I did something i couldn't have done in the south....

... i went to a pride parade this weekend. Yes, that's true. I packed a bottle of champagne and met up with friends for an early breakfast in our gay district to go see the infamous San Diego Pride Parade. Now, please note, the weekend before we went to a gay bar (and those who have any questions- no I'm not wavering on wondering what team i play for- u just don't have to deal with the typical lush guys at a gay bar like you do everywhere else).. so needless to say i went into a gay bar and told a guy i didn't believe in gay marriage....yea you can only imagine how interesting that conversation was. So thus, was my invitation to the gay pride parade....I went. I supported. I was disappointed.

I've been MIA lately

Yes, I know. I have been MIA lately from posting on here. I suppose I'll start off with my test. After months and months of studying I am not so pleased to let everyone know I am still studying. The PMP test in one word, sucked. I now have opted to take my time over the next six months to really review each chapter (including all the new revisions that come out next month)and go back for round two with a new confidence that i can conquer this beast.

Next update, I've got alot of traveling on my plate coming up and already behind me.Ok, ok, I'll finally post on this subject. I know this will be a contradiction of my statement I told many family members in FL recently, but my boyfriend just moved to NYC a month ago. Yup, you guessed it- we are trying long distance. So far it has been easy. Andre is great in the fact he isn't afraid to communicate, call, text or even IM as soon as i get into work to wish me a good day.Beyond that, it's finally great to have someone who understands my job in the IT world. Andre now works for Nokia in NYC on their web analytics team. He is amazingly smart! Just watch out when you are surfing the web at home or on your web because he is tracking you and creating marketing / IT reports based on where you visit! Two weeks ago after we both had long hard weeks at work we opted to take a last minute weekend trip to Denver. Denver was such a great city. There was a large festival downtown Denver that we walked to both Saturday and Sunday (before the massive hail storm) where we went wine tasting (gotta love that we wine tasted in the beer capital) and listened to all types of bands. It was great to finally kick off my flops and walk barefoot in cold grass! It was great to get work off our minds for once. For our the future our goal is to actually try and see one another at least 1-2 times a month- difficult but realistic. Any yes family, we are trying to plan a trip home so you can interrogate...opps i mean meet him :)

Next update, I can't wait to get to Charlotte to visit Lauren and Denver!! That's my trip for this fall!! Lauren you think you are up for hosting Thanksgiving again?

A random tidbt- I'm learning to Salsa dance! The first class is coming up around the corner...dun dun dunhhhhh.

And finally, here's a picture of one of my girls group. Since I moved downtown I have started running around with some girls from my neighborhood. All young professionals like myself but all from very diverse backgrounds- From NorCal, MidWest, Britain, Chezk Republic and other places. These are some great gals!

Last but not least- i just hit my 1 year mark at Bedrock Technology Partners and Qualcomm. If I make it 3 more months, which I plan to surpass way beyond that, then it will be my record at one job. I still love my job!! I actually got a great performance review and will be taking on a bigger role in one of my favorite projects.
