I heart Tapas

After a long week of work there's nothing better than getting a table at a tapa's restaurant, kicking back, and listening to music. This past weekend I tried a new place downtown with a friend. Of course i had to go for the bacon wrapped dates since this is my favorite tapas of all times but this place, Cafe Sevilla, had their dates stuffed with blue cheese (i'm getting hungry thinking about it).While we were at dinner the salsa dancers surrounded and entertained us. The food was amazing! The picture above is of their kabobs (sorry I couldn't see the camera I took my glasses off for the pic)_.... those kabobs were great. However, if this place isn't good enough you always can walk next door to the ceviche bar! I know my family definitely would love to eat there after all the ceviche we at during Christmas two years ago!!

I did what??

A month and half ago I decided that TV no longer was going to be in my household. Sorry house guests, you don't get to plop in front of the tube next time you come to visit me unless we stop off at Blockbuster first. Surprisingly, it hasn't been too difficult. I have the perfect transition time as I study- granted I really miss spending these May Gray days on the couch Saturday while I watch HBO.... crazy huh?

Can Cancer Fundraiser

If my life was crazy enough last week I signed up for a last minute event. my friend at work approached me to help her sister out for a fundraiser for St. Jude. Of course I immediately said yes then asked for details. the details, I was going to be a punk rock model at a club the next night. So I showed up to the club and was immediately plopped into a chair to have my hair done. There probably was 7 other models all of whom sat down after me and got up before me to get their hair done. That's ok, I made a new gay best friend while i sat there for the 2 hours having my hair teased and yanked!! The first hair design I was given was a mowhawk- it was sick! However, when i went i took my shirt off to change in the bathroom i broke a few of the spikes and we didn't have time to re-sculpt them. Instead they took the spikes and turned these into bubbles. It was even crazier! Then I was off to makeup. This thankfully didn't take as long because the photoshoots had begun and guests were already arriving. The rest of the night flew by. We talked to guests about what the event was for and took tons of pictures to hopefully be used in the campaign... we will see though, I'm sure I'll be cut out since i was the only non-model there! now, let's talk about models. They take themselves WAY too seriously. Seriously girls, eat something and have a little fun!

Today was a great day!

The little things in life are what make me happy. Tonight I had dinner with a new group of girls i met. These girls remind me so much of the girls I hung out with in the South. Professional, sweet, ambitious, classy, and all around funny. I was nervous branching out from the group I run around with but I have recently realized I need to find more girlfriends. So, when Christine befriended me in our PMP study group I was eager to be her friend. Tonight I met her other friend who is from England and works in the financial industry. The best part- they both live downtown!

So here's to all the little things in life that make us happy!

Green Roses

Have you ever seen green roses before? The guy I'm dating gave me 2 dozen green roses this weekend.(it's great, I get surprised with roses all the time!) They are absolutely beautiful! I believe they are pretty close to passing my favorite, Tulips. They are a light lime green and all natural!
